Rick Schelhas So, as of this writing, we are a little over one month into the New Year’s resolution cycle. If you believe the “studies” the results aren’t good. According to a 2015 study from the Nielsen Analytics Firm, only 64% of all resolutions make it past the first month. And only 46% make it longer than 6 months with a mere 14% actually achieving their goal. But if you pick and choose who to listen to, that just might be the good news. In 2017 US News reported 80% of all those making a New Year’s [...]

Or when your favorite movie streams in a format that will only fill 78 inches of your 85 inch TV. (Not sure I can go on living when that happens.) By |2018-07-10T20:38:10-04:00July 3rd, 2018|Rick Schelhas|Comments Off on Hawaii To Ban Sunscreen, Kinda…

Rick Schelhas Yup! You read that right. The Hawaii State legislator has actually approved a bill that would ban the use of over 3,500 brands of sunscreen at their beaches. According to State Senator Mike Gabbard this is the first ban of its kind anywhere in the world. The obvious reaction to that is something like, "Wait! What?, Why??" Well, according to researchers, two of the ingredients found in most sunscreens, oxybenzone and octinoxate are linked to the death of the worlds coral reefs. While the legislators are certainly not advocating for anyone to consider not [...]

Something New

As the sun sets on another year, so too has the setting sun reached the horizon on our attempt at maintaining an online store. How's that for the epitome of cliche'? After several years of "playing" in the digital arena of web sites and eCommerce, we have come to the conclusion that a full blown eCommerce site is something best left to the big boys. Through much trial and error we've discovered maintaining an online store the size of our brick and mortar operations takes more resources than we have. We were being unfair to you and ourselves. But [...]
