As the sun sets on another year, so too has the setting sun reached the horizon on our attempt at maintaining an online store. How’s that for the epitome of cliche’?

After several years of “playing” in the digital arena of web sites and eCommerce, we have come to the conclusion that a full blown eCommerce site is something best left to the big boys. Through much trial and error we’ve discovered maintaining an online store the size of our brick and mortar operations takes more resources than we have. We were being unfair to you and ourselves. But fear not oh loyal followers! We are still here and we hope you will be pleased with what you see.

For starters, we have made an attempt to be a much more informational site. While it is not possible (in most cases) to pull out your credit card and purchase directly from the site, there is a significantly more complete listing of our offerings. We want to be a resource for all things medical and rehabilitation. We want you to call us. We want to answer your questions. Now we realize it is terribly old fashioned to actually talk to someone but we want you to give it a try. Talking to a live person will yield answers to your questions immediately. No, really! We will answer your questions without you having to wait for a responding email. Hmm, that’s a concept that could catch on.

Try this on for size.
YOU: “Will my insurance cover a hot tub if my doctor writes me a prescription for one?”
ME: “No”
See! Immediate answer. No waiting. Cool huh?!?

Now, if you absolutely feel the need to separate yourself from some of your hard earned cash and you can’t wait to drive over to our store, call us. We will be more than happy to take your credit card information over the phone and have your order waiting for you to pick up. It is even possible to have it sent to your home either on our truck or via one of the mail options. For a nominal fee of course.

We have also added something quite new to us. We are trying out the blog concept. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this thing you’re reading… it’s our blog. The concept of our blog is simple. Keep it short. Keep it relevant. Keep it interesting. We want this to be someplace you come back to time and time again.

Earlier I said it is not possible to use your credit card to purchase directly from the site “in most cases”. Here is the one exception to that rule. Over time, we will be introducing you to some new, and we think, pretty exciting products. Now I fully realize what I find exciting and what you find exciting may be two completely different things but we’ll see what happens. As we tell you about a new product that we think you should try, we will give you the opportunity to order it right on the blog post. We have partnered with Paypal to process our credit card sales. You do not have to have a Paypal account to use this feature. Paypal will accept any credit card. If you have any questions or problems, please let us know. And as always, we can take an order over the phone if that works better forĀ  you.

We have three contributors to the blog. Adam Miller is our pharmacist contributor. You can expect to see posts from him that deal with things like disease prevention and information, drug interactions, symptoms and relief, etc. Julee Brown is responsible for our DME (Durable Medical Equipment) operation. She will be blogging on things like equipment usage, insurance requirements, new products and their uses, etc. And then there is yours truly, Rick Schelhas. I’m going to try to fill in the gaps and just have some fun. Because those other guys sound pretty boring to me.

So keep coming back, see what we’re up to and let us know what you think. If you have ideas, thought or questions, please make yourself heard. We want to be a resource for you and the more we hear back from you the better we can be. You can leave a comment below and we encourage you to do so.

Until next time…
